Just a little reminder from a thing I like to call Reality. While it’s great to Dream Big, reach for the stars, and have goals, those of us with chronic conditions know that at times achieving those things comes with a price to our health. We can achieve great things when we keep balance and grounding in our lives. 💜
Just a quick one for a Monday morning. Anyone else feel like the weekends just aren’t long enough? 🙋🏻♀️ My to-do list is overflowing lately and there just isn’t enough time to get it all done AND relax a bit on the weekends. Sigh….
Perhaps it’s the exhaustion and pain (fibro flare) that I am still suffering. But this describes my Monday mood…. More coffee, please. Extra shot.
Nonetheless, I hope you all have a wonderful week! Do something wonderful for yourself!! Self-care is selfless, not selfish. (More on that later.) I am taking Friday off to knock off some things from that list. 😉 But first, coffee.
Living with any chronic illness or chronic pain, self-care is vitally important. If we don’t take care of ourselves, we cannot properly take care of anything else. Our energy and resources (“spoons“) are low. So to add a little humor to my weekly inspiration, I thought I would share this quote this week.
Note: No cupcakes were harmed in the process. And no, my office is not the ideal place for taking pictures. I am still working that out.
I often say that you cannot drink from an empty cup. And so it is that you cannot make everyone happy. Happiness starts within yourself. And that happiness then becomes contagious.
As someone with chronic pain and fibromyalgia, I often feel like I have more than my fair share of hardships. But on the path of life, I cannot let that get me down. I have to believe I am only given that which I can handle.
“Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.”
~ C. S. Lewis
Boy, someone must think I can handle A LOT! I missed posting this for #MotivationMonday because of a flare up of my shoulder pain and then somehow after my morning yoga, my back decided to give out. 😦 And while I wanted to post the above quote on my letter board this week, I fell short on Ps and Rs. So this is Plan B… 😃 Always have a Plan B!
There are days when we might feel ordinary. But I feel like everyone has a story to tell and gifts to share. Everyone is remarkable and extraordinary in their own right and will find more of the same along their journey. So remember…. “We meet no ordinary people in our lives.”
I hope you carry that thought with you throughout your day and your encounters. Have an extraordinary day!
I love posting motivational and inspirational quotes. So while I was shopping over the weekend I decided to pick up this cute letter board from Home Goods, so I could showcase some of those sayings at work. I manage a small team and am always looking for positive messages to spread.
Life is full of ups and downs; good and bad; happy and sad. But life is really what you make of it. So make the best of it! Follow those dreams! The road to success may not be an easy one, but you can overcome. “The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.”
Never, ever give up on those dreams. I hope you find whatever you are looking for at the end of your rainbow!
