Letter Board No. 31

“If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way.”

Most of us are not necessarily wired to do that one big great thing in our lives. But we can achieve success by doing small things greatly.

This isn’t a “to do,” it’s a “MUST do”

With Thanksgiving just a little over a week away, I wanted to put this reminder out there into the universe. We should all count our blessings, hug our loves ones, and be thankful for what we have and giving to others and those less fortunate than us year-round, not just at the holidays.

Happy Monday!

Cheers!

Monday – the day when even my coffee needs coffee.

I am a huge fan of coffee. My love of Mondays doesn’t extend quite that far, but I try to approach each week with a good attitude towards what I can accomplish each week. I started my Letter Board series as a way to inject some #MondayMotivation into the week. Today, you get a Monday morning letterboard two-fer, because I am using my powers for good rather than evil. 😉

I hope my caffeine uses its powers for good rather than evil today. @photobaugh

“Even when it’s dark, the stars come out.”

It’s the last day of Pain Awareness Month and I wanted to share a quote to remind everyone not to lose hope. Chronic and acute pain can often lead to exhaustion, depression, or despair. Maintaining a positive outlook that better days are ahead can help overcome some of that. Hope for less pain, better treatments, or maybe even a cure.

“Don’t lose hope. Even when it’s dark, the stars come out.”

Making small, incremental changes can have a profound and lasting effect on your life.

What one thing can you be thankful for today? More than one? Bonus! This year has been a struggle for me to be thankful or grateful for much. Grief and pain can do that to a person. But I can always find at least one thing every day to make me smile.

“There is always something to be thankful for.”

Look deep down inside you for new thoughts and new strengths.

Are you an optimist or a pessimist? Glass half-full or glass half-empty? I, myself, have always tried to look at the bright side of things. I will admit, I have had my share of dark days in pain or grieving or worried about something, but all in all I choose to be optimistic.

“With a new day comes new strengths and new thoughts.”

Eleanor Roosevelt

You know those crazy made up holidays? Well August is Admit You’re Happy or Happiness Happens month, so try to focus on the good. Celebrate you! Be grateful for all of the positive things you have in your life.

We all face challenges and pain and loss. Rather than dwelling on the negative, look deep down inside you for new thoughts and new strengths. Dig deep down and find a ray of hope!

After all, you’ve survived 100% of your worst days up to now.

This too shall pass.

Cheers!
