Quote: Find Something You Love to Do

Last weekend I listened to Steve Nash’s speech as he was enshrined into the basketball Hall of Fame. As he closed his speech, he was talking to his kids, and to all kids with their life in front of them. I found his words touching enough to write them down. These words can be an inspiration to us all to find that passion within us, and go after our goals.lovetodo

Find something you love to do. Do it every day. Be obsessed. Balance can come later. Use your imagination. Put pen to paper. Declare your intentions. Set small goals. Knock them off. Set more goals. Gain momentum. Build confidence. Grow a deep belief. Outwork people. Play the long game. You don’t have to be the chosen one. The secret is to build a resolve and spirit to enjoy the plateaus – the times when it doesn’t feel like you’re improving and you question why your doing this. If you’re patient, the plateaus will become springboards. Finally, never stop striving, reaching for your goals until you get there. But the truth is even when you get there – even when you get here, standing on the stage – it’s the striving, fighting, and pushing yourself to the limit every day that you’ll miss and you’ll long for. You’ll never be more alive than when you give something everything you have.”

Here’s hoping your plateaus become springboards to bigger things!

Cheers!

10 Things to Inspire You this Month

Enjoy stories of happiness, creativity, getting outside, and a great American hero.

Are you happy? Do you take time out of your day or week to just waste time? When was the last time you walked barefoot in the grass or let your inner child be free?

For September, I wanted to share stories about happiness, creativity, getting outside, and a great American hero. And since it’s National Yoga Month, I have included a video from my favorite yogi for you to enjoy. I hope these stories and videos give you pause to think, and I hope you enjoy reading or watching them as much as I enjoyed finding them. Continue reading “10 Things to Inspire You this Month”

10 Things to Inspire You This Month

My life story will be a good one.

As summer winds to a close and school starts up again for some, I find myself wondering where the summer went. I hope all of you who made summer bucket lists were able to cross all of those things off and have some fun.

Although it is difficult to find the energy to be an inspiration to others when you’re exhausted and have little energy for yourself, I did manage to take a few days for a lovely family vacation last week. I was able to rest, relax, and recover, and I am finally coming out of this wicked fibroflare. I hope you enjoy this month’s round-up of everyday inspirations!

Tuesday Thoughts….

I often use the hashtag #lovewhatyoudo because I believe that if you enjoy your work, it doesn’t feel like work. Everyone should find something that makes them happy; something they are passionate about; something they are good at. And then do more of that.

I came across this quote and decided to look up the author, as I had never heard of him. Frank Tyger was an editorial cartoonist, a humor columnist, and an artist. He has many wonderful quotes attributed to him. On Mondays he would write a column that always ended with, “May today be the start of a wonderful week for you.”  Such positivism that we don’t always see these days. It’s this kind of everyday inspiration that I look for in life.

I hope you find your freedom, like what you do, and do what you like. Or even better, do what you love and love what you do. ❤

Have a wonderful week!

Cheers!
