We all need to believe in something, so why not believe in yourself. Confidence is contagious.
Yes, working hard is important. But success comes from the belief that you can accomplish anything.
We all deal with setbacks or failures, have to overcome obstacles, and sometimes face adversities. But how you face those obstacles and the attitude that carries you through the day can help you reach your goals.
So don’t let those negative thoughts take over. Positive thoughts and attitudes, self-confidence and the belief that you can do it will yield positive results.
Lately I haven’t been loving myself enough. I have been running on empty, with “no spoons” left to give. No energy to blog, no creativity left to give, and dealing with my messy life.
So taking a few days to enjoy a getaway with my family last week was definitely the self-care, self-preservation, and refueling I needed. Being outdoors is my happy place, as I believe it is holistically therapeutic to be outside.

As many of us are wrapping up a long holiday weekend celebrating America’s independence, it’s a good time to reflect on what “independence” means for many. While the holiday is meant to celebrate my country’s independence from the colonization of the British, for many the word independence means so many other things.
For those with chronic illness, pain, or conditions, being independent and able to do things unassisted is hugely satisfying, but not always possible. Oftentimes those conditions are “invisible” meaning the individual tries to exert their independence, put on a happy face, and carry on, all the while hiding their pain or condition from the outside world. Life is full of ups and downs; good and bad; happy and sad. But life is really what you make of it. So make the best of it! Follow those dreams! The road to success may not be an easy one, but you can overcome. “The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.”
Never, ever give up on those dreams. I hope you find whatever you are looking for at the end of your rainbow!
I often use the hashtag #lovewhatyoudo because I believe that if you enjoy your work, it doesn’t feel like work. Everyone should find something that makes them happy; something they are passionate about; something they are good at. And then do more of that.
I came across this quote and decided to look up the author, as I had never heard of him. Frank Tyger was an editorial cartoonist, a humor columnist, and an artist. He has many wonderful quotes attributed to him. On Mondays he would write a column that always ended with, “May today be the start of a wonderful week for you.” Such positivism that we don’t always see these days. It’s this kind of everyday inspiration that I look for in life.
I hope you find your freedom, like what you do, and do what you like. Or even better, do what you love and love what you do. ❤
Have a wonderful week!

And so I want to share my top 10 lessons from life as a fibro warrior.
