I often use the hashtag #lovewhatyoudo because I believe that if you enjoy your work, it doesn’t feel like work. Everyone should find something that makes them happy; something they are passionate about; something they are good at. And then do more of that.
I came across this quote and decided to look up the author, as I had never heard of him. Frank Tyger was an editorial cartoonist, a humor columnist, and an artist. He has many wonderful quotes attributed to him. On Mondays he would write a column that always ended with, “May today be the start of a wonderful week for you.” Such positivism that we don’t always see these days. It’s this kind of everyday inspiration that I look for in life.
I hope you find your freedom, like what you do, and do what you like. Or even better, do what you love and love what you do. ❤
I didn’t choose a life with fibromyalgia, it chose me. Many days I wish I was my old self, pain-free and full of energy. Yet, until a cure is found, this me has been the norm for close to 20 years now. I have learned to cope and live, and even thrive.

And so I want to share my top 10 lessons from life as a fibro warrior.
Like these lofty trees, we sometimes set high goals for ourselves. Awesome goals that inspire us to push ourselves, and maybe try something new. Stretch goals that allow us to demonstrate to others what we are truly capable of achieving. Personally, if I don’t keep moving forward and inching the bar a little higher I really won’t know what I can achieve, will I? Setting lofty goals is good for one’s psyche and personal growth.
“Dreams are Goals with Deadlines.” So continue to Dream a little Bigger. Aim a little Higher. And pursue those lofty goals that may seem out of reach.
“Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal.”
I have said for years that “Sugar is the root of all evil.” I woke up this morning after a decent night’s sleep in fibro flare mode. Pain all over that makes me want to curl up in the fetal position and cry. The reason for this flare is most likely the sugar-crap-fest I had on leftover Halloween Candy and chocolate chip cookies after dinner last night. Shame on me. I know better.
Now sugar is not really the root of ALL evil. But it is pretty bad, nutritionally speaking. It can lead to tooth decay, weight gain, and a myriad of other health issues. It’s so addictive that studies show rats will choose sugar over cocaine. And people flock to coffee shops for their sugar-laden “milk shakes” disguised as coffee drinks. It’s added to a variety of food products. (Hint: Read your labels, people.) For me, I know if I eat crap, I feel like crap. And sugar and bread are my two crappy food weaknesses.
