People with chronic illnesses or pain often feel like they have transformed into someone else, perhaps even someone they no longer recognize. It takes strength and courage to deal with long-term pain and illness, while staying true to your authentic self.

Here’s to being able to bloom where you are planted, face challenges that come your way, transform into a stronger being, and find your authenticity and strength.💛

As many of us are wrapping up a long holiday weekend celebrating America’s independence, it’s a good time to reflect on what “independence” means for many. While the holiday is meant to celebrate my country’s independence from the colonization of the British, for many the word independence means so many other things.
For those with chronic illness, pain, or conditions, being independent and able to do things unassisted is hugely satisfying, but not always possible. Oftentimes those conditions are “invisible” meaning the individual tries to exert their independence, put on a happy face, and carry on, all the while hiding their pain or condition from the outside world. Life is full of ups and downs; good and bad; happy and sad. But life is really what you make of it. So make the best of it! Follow those dreams! The road to success may not be an easy one, but you can overcome. “The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.”
