This past week has seen some weather extremes across the country. Despite the Polar vortex that gripped parts of the country, Punxsutawney Phil came out of his hole, did not see his shadow, thereby predicting an early spring. I don’t know about you, but I don’t usually believe the Groundhog Day tradition for my weather reports. (And Phil IS usually wrong!)

So regardless of the weather outside, I say always bring your own sunshine where ever you go! Keep a positive attitude and outlook to fight the negativity and stress in your life. A positive attitude has been shown to have many health benefits, from combatting depression to strengthening your immune system to extending your lifespan. So smile, let the sun shine on you, and breathe in some positivity!
A positive attitude is one of my secret weapons to helping with my fibromyalgia and chronic pain. I do have my pain-filled days in bed, but I honestly believe in the power of positive thinking and an attitude of gratitude! It helps me ward off depression and self-pity. Read my thoughts about it in this old post: Change Your Mindset – Ease Your Pain.

My husband and I were able to enjoy a Sunday afternoon in the sun at a botanical garden near us (pictured above). It was a nice, relaxing day to forget about all of our stress for a bit. I hope you have a glorious week and are able to bring your own bit of sunshine to your day, and perhaps to others around you.
Cheers!
Cynthia
I am imagining that botanical garden! Attitude is definitely a game changer. Those of us in the polar vortex really need light! We do not get outside when it is averaging 30 below zero. so always turn on lights! Brighten your indoor life! Soon, as P. Phil has predicted, spring will come. (Let’s hope he is right this year!!!) xo~k.
