Clean Eating: Creamy Chocolate Chili Smoothie

Good nutrition creates health in all areas of our existence.

It’s no secret that I believe eating right can make a huge difference in your health and overall well-being. Smoothies are my go-to breakfast. I love them because you can sneak all kinds of healthy fruits, vegetables, and superfoods in them.

Variety is the spice of life!

A little sweet. 🍫 A little spicy.  🌶 I was looking to make a new recipe recently, and this is what I came up with. Chocolately goodness! I hope you enjoy! 🙂

Recipe:

  • 1/2 c almond milk
  • 1/2 c Califa Farms chocolate coconut almond milk
  • 2 scoops Orgain creamy chocolate protein powder
  • 5 ice cubes
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1 scoop Orgain collagen powder
  • 1 tsp cacao powder
  • 1 Tbsp glutamine powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Chili powder

Blend.

Topped with: homemade granola, chia seeds, cacao nibs.

So creamy. So good.

Key Health Benefits

Chili powder is an anti-oxidant that is good for the immune system and high in vitamin C.

Cacao power is also an anti-oxidant that is high in iron, magnesium, and calcium. So it’s good for your brain, heart, and bones!

Avocado is full of the “good fats,” and is loaded with potassium and fiber.

Cinnamon is another anti-oxidant that is a great anti-inflammatory, is good for your heart, and can lower blood sugar.

Why Orgain?

I have been using Orgain protein powders for a few years now. It is a soy, dairy, and gluten free, organic, vegan powder. This brand was developed cancer-survivor turned doctor who decided to take his health into his own hands, like I have tried to do for many years. This is a brand and a philosophy I can stand behind, besides the fact that it is just plain good-tasting, good for you, and full of clean protein and fiber. Get picky with your protein.

Do you have a go-to smoothie ingredient or recipe?

  1. I usually don’t tell people this but I had the weight loss surgery… I would recommend NO ONE have this surgery BTW, I have had many life-threatening health issues because of it! Anyway, I struggle to get enough protein in without added sugars. I am going to look at your protein powder. I’ll go through your link! Thank you, Cynthia!

    1. Yes, please try it and let me know what you think. It’s a good quality pea protein. I really enjoy their products. Their website has more flavors than I can find in the stores too. 💚🍃
