Clean Eating: Blueberry Lavender Smoothie

A healthy outside starts from the inside.

I haven’t done one of these posts for awhile, but since yesterday was the first day of summer, #TheLongestDay #NationalSmoothieDay and #InternationalDayofYoga I thought I would add this recipe. Many of my favorite things rolled into one day. (Note: I did not include National Selfie Day, as that is not one of my favorites!😂)

Smoothies are my go-to breakfast and sometimes lunch. I even make them when I am traveling, although not quite this colorful.

You can find my other favorite recipes here. But here’s the blue that makes you feel good…and tastes good too! 💙💜💙💜

A healthy outside starts from the inside.

Recipe:

  • 1 c. So Vanilla Organic Coconut Milk
  • 2 scoops Orgain Organic Protein Powder Vanilla Bean
  • 1 scoop Collagen Power (Orgain makes a good one!)
  • 1 c. frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 c. frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 c. frozen organic spinach

I blended all of this together. And then because I love a little bit of crunch in my smoothies, I stirred in:

  • 1 Tbsp. chia seeds

and then I sprinkled the top with:

  • Purely Elizabeth Original Ancient Grain Granola
  • Fresh blueberries
  • French Lavender

Benefits of Chia Seeds

Chia seeds are one of the healthiest foods on the planet, with many benefits for your brain and you body. Here are just a few:

  1. Nutrient dense – high in fiber, protein, and Omega-3 Fatty Acids
  2. Full of anti-oxidants
  3. Help reduce chronic inflammation
  4. Help you feel full

I often make them into a chia seed pudding as well, which can be layered with your smoothie.

Benefits of Lavender

“Some studies suggest that consuming lavender can help digestive issues such as vomiting, nausea, intestinal gas, upset stomach, and abdominal swelling. In addition to helping with digestive problems, lavender is used to help relieve pain from headaches, sprains, toothaches, and sores.”

I just think lavender is pretty. 💜😉

What’s your favorite superfood? Do you have a favorite post-workout smoothie?

Cheers!

Cynthia
