Pain Awareness Month

Find a purpose through your pain.

September is Pain Awareness Month and I wanted to offer some words of encouragement to those who might be suffering. In the words of Minnie Mouse:

“Sometimes things scare us, but we find ways to cope.”

Whether you are at the beginning or middle of your pain journey, please know you are not alone. There are others out there like you suffering in some way, that can lend an ear of support, or can help you find the resources you need – support groups, blogs, doctors, specialists – to help you cope with the pain you are experiencing. This month was set aside to help raise awareness so others understand the physical pain people suffer and pain management. And so that is my purpose here.

“That is all I want in life: for this pain to seem purposeful.” ~ Elizabeth Wurtzel

While I live with chronic pain from fibromyalgia and back problems, I still try to help others understand and find resources they need to move forward.

Whether your pain be physical or emotional, chronic or temporary, constant or intermittent, try to look past that which scares you and seek the help or relief you need.

Be brave. Ask for help if you need it. Lend a hand if you can. And have compassion for those who are suffering.

Cheers!

Cynthia
