Yes, it’s still winter, but spring is fast approaching so I figured I’d better get in another update. I long for spring and warmer weather; of course in Texas, you could possibly experience all of the seasons in just a matter of days. Our weather changes like a pendulum swings…
Just a quick check-in to let you know how I am and what’s been going on with me since I’ve been very absent from blogging lately.

What’s New
I’ve managed to keep any major fibromyalgia flare-ups at bay. I’ve had few days filled with pain and exhaustion, but thankfully nothing prolonged. Grief and the holidays and work and the never-ending to-do list has been quite enough to keep me exhausted. I have been steadily working to settle my mother’s estate and planned her memorial service, so I was very thankful for no major flares.
Never underestimate the power of good nutrition and healthy habits as tools in your fibromyalgia toolkit.
January was a good start to the new year. Every year I follow Yoga with Adrienne’s 30 Day Yoga Series. This year’s series entitled Move was another good one. I try to exercise/move daily it at all possible, and I love yoga to improve my flexibility and muscle tone. Yoga, coupled with walking the dog and then a stationary bike or pilates is how I rotate my routine.
I also have set several goals for the year that I have been working on, such as keeping in touch with family more, traveling a bit, and reading more. (I am currently on book #13 so far this year, so I’m off to a good start.)
We travelled to California in January to have a small family memorial service for my mother, and an inurnment ceremony for both of my parents. It is comforting to know my parents are together again, where they met, surrounded by family and beautiful scenery. Deer often walk through the cemetery, as they just roam freely through the sleepy little beach town. On the flip side, it requires a 3 hour plane ride to visit them there.
And while the trip was too short, it gave me closure and peace of mind. It was wonderful to be back home again in California and see the ocean and the big trees and my grandmother’s old house, and to re-live some childhood memories. I got to see family I hadn’t seen in years and watch the sunrise by the beach twice. Very cathartic.

My brother had already planned to sing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” when their urns were being placed in the wall, so how poignant was it that this rainbow came out on an otherwise foggy and overcast day. If was as if Mom knew she was home.
February brought two ice storms to Texas, which limited my ability to get out and walk the dog at times. I also had several projects at work that kept me insanely busy, and found out one of my employees has cancer. #cancersucks I also celebrated my 29th wedding anniversary and now have my 500th follower on my blog! Yay!
March is here and our Texas weather has been from the 70s to the 20s and will soon be back in the 70s again. I have made good progress through my personal to do list of settling my mom’s estate. And it’s National Nutrition Month so to celebrate, I am finally doing a…..

Iām glad major flare-ups have stayed away but I feel you on the constant exhaustion of busy-ness and never-ending to do lists. Adding on grief of such a painful loss is unthinkable. Iām just so very sorry. I really do hope the memorial went as beautifully as possible, and it sounds like a wonderful area for your parents to finally rest together.
Thatās a very generous giveaway and very kind of you to run, Cynthia. Is it open just within the US? Iāve never actually tried protein powder. Protein is so important though so I can see how it could benefit a lot of people, especially when living with chronic illness when we need all the help we can get.
Sending lots of love and hoping that spring brings a little more joy, a little less on the to-do list (hey, we can hope!)
Caz xx

Thank you, Caz. š The exhaustion just never ends.
I didnāt specify US only, so I guess as long as thereās no restrictions on shipping it overseas, I will keep that as an option! (You can tell Iāve never done a giveaway before! Ha!)

Hahah I find giveaways so confusing to run. I’ve only done a couple and definite think the simpler the better. With shipping, you just want to think how much it’ll cost to post it (assuming you’re paying for postage rather than the brand). Don’t leave yourself out of pocket.
I really do hope the weekend is a little easier and quieter so you can take things slowly and get some rest. I’d like the same but I’m pretty sure it won’t happen, it’s easy to tell someone else to do it rather than do it yourself though because otherwise the things you need to do simply won’t get done & we’ll be further behind and even more peed off š xx
