Letter Board No. 19

Ob-la-di, ob-la-da! Life goes on.

After being a huge Beatles fan since I was quite young, I got to see Paul McCartney live for the first time a few nights ago. Before the concert even started, my Facebook status read: “Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on. Brah! La-la, how the life goes on.” This was in part a nod to the recent passing of my father, as well as my excitement for the show. Little did I know that Sir Paul would later be leading the crowd in a sing-along to that very song! 🙂 ❤

If you saw my Father’s Day post, you know I recently lost my father. For the last year he has been confronted with a terminal cancer diagnosis, yet throughout it all, he maintained a positive attitude. I know there were times when he was scared, and he would often say, “It is what it is” when we were talking about the inevitable.

There are some things in life we just cannot change, no matter how hard we try or wish or pray. And while the loss is still fresh and painful, life does go on.

Here’s wishing you all the most beautiful week ahead! Stay positive, my friends!

Cheers!

Cynthia

  1. That’s such a courageous way to view things, and I don’t think it’s easy, so I take my hat off to you. And you’re right, sometimes that’s all we can do; to say that it is what it is and go with the flow. Sending love & hoping the week treats you kindly  ♥
