It has been said that life is the messy bits. Life isn’t always good times; there will be challenges that come your way, some bigger than others. How do you face those challenges? Do they cause you stress? Or do you face them head-on?
My Messy Bits
My family and I have had numerous challenges thrown our way these past few months. Our lives have been both literally and figuratively messy, with medical issues and remodeling projects going on.
I can tell you as someone who suffers from fibromyalgia, that I don’t thrive in this kind of mess or chaos. As I am sure others with chronic conditions and illnesses can relate, I crave order, routines, and the comfort of my home. That is what keeps me sane and allows me to muddle through my fibro life as well as I do, keeping flares at bay.
Embrace the Mess
Sometimes you just have to embrace your messy life and the glorious mess that you are, and look for the best in every situation.
So the next time you are faced with one of those messy bits in your life, try looking on the bright side and embracing the situation. Enjoy the ride. Love those messy, disorderly parts of your life as much as you love the rest of it, and look for those things the keep you sane in spite of the chaos around you.
Cheers!
Cynthia
I love this Cynthia! We’ve been talking about having our en suite bathroom remodeled, but my biggest hesitation has been dealing with the mess, the noise, and having to move into the guest room until the work is done. Maybe it’s time for me to just “embrace the mess.” I know the new bathroom would be worth it. Also, for life in general, as you said, we just need to learn to embrace the messes that are our lives from time to time and make the most them.😊

Yes we have put off doing this work – tile floors/showers/kitchens – for many years because I feared the literal mess. But I am happy with the end results so far. And this disruption is temporary! I figure since we are such home bodies we should enjoy our home. 😉 It doesn’t hurt that we have a vacation coming up either.

I agree I relish the order of the routine with FM. But you have inspired me Cynthia to continue to make our house brighter & lighter with finishing the final renovations I have been delaying! 😀
